Some of the things you might learn about!

Joshua Tree has been home to native Americans for perhaps longer than 10,000 years. The Chemeuveu Natives would migrate between Joshua Tree and what is now Big bear to enjoy favorable weather year round and to find food from the land year wound.

Joshua Tree has been home to many mineral mines – including gold mines. Some of these mines still have equipment present. Mine shafts are generally closed off for safety, but we can safely guide you to some of the old shaft entrances.

Regarding flora and fauna, Joshua Trees are pollinated almost exclusively by the yucca moth (genus Tegeticula). Some say exclusively, but one might suppose that wind might occasionally help, but hard to know – that’s my own speculation. There are so many interesting animals in the desert that have adapted to such a unique environment.
